The Key to Your Safety Readiness

“Don’t wait until you are ready to take action, instead take action to be ready. The future depends on what you do today!”

MINDSET

Holocaust survivor Victor E Frankel shares with us; “when we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”  The recent threats for “a call to violence on December 17, 2021”, challenge us to be ready. To be ready for the coming storm and before lightning strikes.  Review your active shooter and active killer protocols along with your action steps. Commit this to memory as a part of your When/Then Crisis rehearsal.  Rehearse\practice your action steps and remember to be proactive. “Duck and Cover” is a passive and inappropriate response to an active shooter or active killer event.  Duck and Cover gives the active shooter power to prevail over you and this is exactly what active shooter and active killers want.  Do not allow them that control

BUILD ON CAPACITY

Readiness includes developing resilience through building capacity. It is up to you to build and maintain capacity for you and those who are in your care. If you See Something or Hear Something – Say Something.  Keep local law-enforcement updated.

MITIGATE THREATS WITH INTENTION

Remember these active shooters and active killers like the path of least resistance and they like shock and awe.  The United States Secret Service teaches us that the more we can remove opportunity circumstances or ability the more we can mitigate these threats from ever occurring.  This begins with your mindset and your situational awareness. We have to be the catalyst for own safety and prevention of threats. Ensure that you remain in your waking and present brain, use the elements of 1) awareness, 2) assessment and 3) action for your ongoing situational awareness.
